Delivery

Plants getting to our customers in the Best possible condition is paramount to us!

We want you to receive them as Fresh & Beautiful as the moment they left the Nursery; if posting we will send bareroot which basically means we will carefully remove the majority of the soil from the plants roots which minimises any potential damage is transit & keeps postage costs for you, the customer at a minimum.

If we are undertaking Local deliveries or delivering Large Plants then they will be delivered in the pots they have been grown in at our Nursery.

Local delivery

We offer Fantastic Free Local Delivery (for orders over £25) for customers within a 10 mile radius of the Nursery (BS26 2TG) - we deliver locally 7 days a week so if there's something you have your Eye on we can usually get it to you the very next day!

For customers outside the 10 mile radius, we offer 2 x different delivery options; Parcel Delivery & Large Item delivery (for the items the Postman just wont carry!)

UK wide shipping

We offer UK wide shipping currently priced at £6.50 (Free if your order is over £65).

We post all Parcel Delivery packages out on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday by Royal Mail 1st Class Tracked to avoid plants being stuck in nasty, cold couriers warehouses over the weekend!

We pack all orders the night before delivery to ensure the plants have minimal time without adequate light conditions. You will receive a shipping notification email as soon this has been done and your order is ready to go.

Weather delays & Bank Holidays - Please note that during cold spells plants cannot be dispatched because they could suffer damage in transit. Orders will be sent out as soon as temperatures rise sensibly above freezing. Orders may also be delayed over public holidays to avoid excessive length of time in transit.

Our packaging

For all of our deliveries we use recyclable paper and boxes

We do not buy any plastic items new, as a commitment to minimising the impact that our operations have on the environment around us. Any plastic items (bubble wrap, plant pot sleeves) are all completely recycled.

What to do once you receive your Plants?

Carefully unwrap your new Plants from their wrapping and pot up into a gritty, well drained soil/compost mix - we use & recommend using a standard Peat-Free multipurpose compost mix or even better a John Innes no. 2 mix & adding 40-50% volume of drainage media in the form of Horticultural Grit, Sharp Sand & Perlite (plus a smidge of Bonemeal for Good measure!)
The soil is one of the most important aspects for the Health of your Succulents or Cacti - This will give you a Free draining soil mix & will help you get the Arid conditions that succulents need to thrive.
Most succulents will love bright light and airy conditions, but some will love shady conditions. Knowing your succulent requirements is crucial when selecting placement and compatibility.

Unlike other plants and due to their waxy leathery leaves, succulents can tolerate very windy conditions and still be very happy.

There are even many succulents that can survive in low temperatures below freezing if free draining conditions are met. This can normally be found on vertical free draining walls, rockery beds, or a windy dry part of the garden.
