Aloe 'perfoliata, or as previously know as Aloe 'Mitformis' , is a tough clump-forming Aloe from the Western and Northern Capes of South Africa.
Serrated looking toothy foliage grows upright at first, clumping and branching from the stem and the taller stems then lean over under their own weight and grow along the ground.
It makes a great sculptural, easy-care houseplant but not fully hardy for growing outside for the entirety of the UK.
We have experimented with Aloe 'perfoliata' at our rural Nursery, on the edge of the Somerset levels down to -5C with no issues as part of Green roofs & Shingle beds (topped with Pebbles or Gravel). However, it is not fully hardy in all areas of the UK.
Please Note: Succulents change colour throughout the year and the plants we deliver can look different from the pictures. All plants are shipped bare root (without soil).
