Mangave 'Mission to Mars' gets its nickname due to the unique, intense Red colouration from the leaves.
Thick Green leaves are heavily speckled with Burgundy Red, with spots that bleed into each other for an overall Red appearance. The Red colouration is brought out best in direct UV light and becomes subdued undercover. The long leaves form an arching habit, caused by the tips of the leaves curving downward. Margins curl upward to show off its Cinnamon spines, a nice colour complement to the Red.
Mangave is a relatively new phenomenon, an intergeneric cross of Manfreda x Agave. These rare hybrids combine the best of both worlds: the better growth rate and the interesting patterns of Manfreda, and the habit and refinement of Agave.
Everyone will appreciate the fast growth rate of Mangave - these hybrids finish more quickly than Agave, thanks to their Manfreda parentage.
Look to the future for more interesting and unique Mangave's to join the collection!
Please Note: Succulents change colour throughout the year and the plants we deliver can look different from the pictures. All plants are shipped bare root (without soil).
