Mangave 'Night Owl' is a rare, near-Black coloured plant with Silvery accents that was created by hybridising between Agave macroacantha, Agave gypsophila ssp. pablocarilloi and a couple of manfreda species.
This beautifully dark Mangave has a similar habit as 'Silver Fox' but with near Black leaves. Its dark colour comes from its heavy dark spotting. The wide leaves gently undulate to show off its marginal spines.
This plant can deepen in colour with direct sun and age. It has the same marginal teeth that many Mangave plants have but the teeth on this plant are Red.
Mangave is a relatively new phenomenon, an intergeneric cross of Manfreda x Agave. These rare hybrids combine the best of both worlds: the better growth rate and the interesting patterns of Manfreda, and the habit and refinement of Agave.
Everyone will appreciate the fast growth rate of Mangave - these hybrids finish more quickly than Agave, thanks to their Manfreda parentage.
Look to the future for more interesting and unique Mangave's to join the collection!
Please Note: Succulents change colour throughout the year and the plants we deliver can look different from the pictures. All plants are shipped bare root (without soil).
